History

Our Story

In September 2004, Joe and Meredith Canto opened the doors of a small store front church on Locust Street in Fall River where they began sharing the Gospel. After faithfully outreaching the greater Fall River area for 4 years, in July of 2009, the doors were opened to a new, much larger facility in Tiverton, RI.

The new location offered an opportunity not only for continued impact in Fall River, but also the communities of Tiverton, Westport, and the surrounding areas. By the power of the Holy Spirit we have continued to grow through men and women desiring to share the Gospel and in 2017 we were able to purchase the building in which we currently hold our services.

Meet Our Pastors

Founder & Senior Pastor

Joe & Meredith Canto

The Canto’s began Victory Church in 2004 just 10 months after getting married and set out on the adventure of a lifetime! Pastor Joe and Meredith were both raised in church on Cape Cod MA where they served a local congregation through worship ministry, bands, bible studies, outreaches, and mission trips. Meredith was raised a Pastor’s kid and lived in the Philippines for 5 years as her parents were missionaries there. They were discipled in a hands-on environment and as a young couple felt the call of God on their lives to begin a church in Fall River MA. Part of the adventure has been the birth of their 4 children who have been by their side in the ministry. They have a desire to see disciples raised up in the congregation to further the Gospel and be obedient to the great commission to see the lost saved.

Assistant/Youth Pastor

Mark & Desiree Silveira

In 2012 Mark and Desiree came into Victory Chapel looking for a new church home. Through the Gospel preaching and conviction of the Holy Spirit their hearts were radically changed and they had a deep desire to serve God and His Church. They quickly pursued ministry through our worship team, children’s ministry and many more. Prior to salvation Mark spent years hustling the streets, angry and hurting those around him. After a near death experience, with a gun to his head Mark realized his need for God but still at that time it wasn’t enough for him to make Jesus his Savior. God called Mark and Desiree into His saving grace at just the right time, they were both in a place ready to be used by God.

Mark and Desiree have 3 children that enjoy serving along with them. In June of 2018 Mark and Desiree were announced as Assistant Pastors and are eager to see where God will use them to serve at Victory Church.
